Empowering Your Deliveries: A Look Back at 2024 and What’s Ahead in 2025

2024 was an incredible year at Onfleet. We launched innovative product updates that made delivering with Onfleet better than ever. Here’s a quick recap of how we’ve worked to empower your business and help you create exceptional delivery experiences. We’re also excited to share with you some of what we’ll launch in 2025.

Route Plans 

Route Plans transform delivery management into a flexible, scalable, and efficient process. This enhancement shifts Onfleet from a driver-based model to a true route-driven experience, empowering you to balance schedules, optimize vehicles, and handle last-minute changes seamlessly.

With Route Plans, you can:

  • Build Independent Routes: Create standalone route plans that allow you to assign or change drivers (or vehicles) at any point before the route starts.
  • Enhance Flexibility: Manage routes based on task timing, vehicle needs, or driver availability—whether it’s for a shift, day, or specific time frame
  • New Route-Based Data: Recording Onfleet now records and shows the planned time and distance for route plans and optimized routes. This information will be displayed in the newly designed Command Center (available in early 2025).
  • Improve Visual Tracking: Route Plans are now more configurable and understandable with new route icons, color-coded route tasks, at-a-glance route status, and more.
  • Refine Planning & Execution: Adjust tasks, optimize for vehicles, and create start and end times for routes, ensuring smoother operations and better alignment with customer expectations.

You can enable Route Plans from the Dashboard in Onfleet. We highly recommend doing this now, as exciting and upcoming new features for 2025 will require Route Plans to be enabled.

Label Printing 

You can now create and print shipping labels for your orders directly within the client portal. This feature provides drivers with crucial information to increase delivery accuracy and speed.

An All-New Client Portal:

If you’re a courier or delivery service provider, our new updates to the Onfleet Client Portal can help reduce order confusion, ensure accuracy, and deepen relationships with your clients. 

Clients can now:

  • Create and upload orders in bulk
  • View Task Status and more
  • View Order ID (also available on Mobile app)
  • View Connection name (your courier)
  • View Recipient Name
  • Utilize the API to automate order creation and management (learn more).

Passport and International Documents 

Drivers can now use the Onfleet Driver App to scan international documents and passports to use as Proof of Delivery and age verification.

Once the feature is enabled, administrators can specify a minimum age (in years) when creating or editing a task. As a driver, you will be required to scan a valid ID (or manually enter the date of birth) to verify that the recipient is at or above your minimum age requirement before being able to complete the task. 

New Integrations

Connect Onfleet and Shopify with this new integration! You can now auto-generate tasks from Shopify orders, define local delivery areas, configure delivery time slots, and more.

You can now ingest and sync a driver’s schedule in When I Work with their schedule in Onfleet. This makes managing driver scheduling, shift switches, and availability easier.

Onfleet and Airtable are now completely integrated. This ensures that newly created tasks, updates, task assignments, and status changes are always synced between platforms.

Custom Task Fields 

You can now attach additional information to Onfleet tasks and better tailor Onfleet to your organization’s process. With custom tasks, you can:

  • Add Order IDs to an associated task
  • Add unique hyperlinks to a task
  • Include other important information like pay rate, customer IDs, and more

Route Optimization

API endpoints for route optimization are now available in our Enterprise plans!

Our 2024 was packed with exciting product advancements at Onfleet – but the best is yet to come!
