3. Improve Delivery Efficiency with New Route Optimization Tools

Optimize Routes Based on Available Vehicles
Onfleet’s routing engine now supports optimization by vehicle type, making it easier to plan efficient routes without needing to assign drivers in advance. Planners can select vehicles available first, optimize routes accordingly and assign drivers later as they come online for their shifts.
If your team has been relying on dummy drivers like “Truck 1 Driver” to represent vehicles, this update streamlines your workflow and eliminates that extra step.
Availability: Included in all subscriptions.
Plan Details:
- Launch: Optimize routes for one vehicle type at a time. For example, Trucks may be routed in one optimization and Motorcycles in a separate one.
- Scale & Enterprise: Optimize routes for multiple vehicle types simultaneously. For example, Tasks can be routed across Trucks and Motorcycles in a single optimization.
New Routing Preferences to Give You More Control
We’ve added two new route optimization settings to help minimize manual routing changes and tailor optimizations to your needs:
- Avoid Tolls: Automatically exclude toll roads from optimized routes.
- Balance Tasks Across Routes: Distribute tasks more evenly across all available drivers and vehicles.
Availability: Included in all subscriptions.
4. Plan from Start to Finish with End Route Tasks

Using the new End Route Task, guide drivers with clear end-of-day instructions. Choose to end routes at a team hub, home address, or final delivery location. Paired with the Start Route Task, this enables better tracking and visibility into stem-time, unlocking more informed planning and analytics for future routes.
Availability: Included in all subscriptions. Route Plans must be enabled.
5. Faster Dispatching with Auto and Self-Assignment Tools
Send Client Orders to the Right Driver Team, Automatically

Automatically assign client orders to a designated driver team, saving valuable dispatch time and simplifying operations for couriers with multiple driver teams.
Availability: Included in all subscriptions with the Courier Suite add-on.
Allow Drivers to Self-Assign Routes

Let drivers self-assign routes directly from the Onfleet Driver App, giving them more autonomy while reducing the dispatch team’s workload. Drivers can view all unassigned routes available to their team and choose which one to claim.
Availability: Included in all subscriptions with the Route Plans enabled.
Learn how admins can enable this feature here and how drivers can self-assign routes in the Driver App here.
6. Share PODs Automatically on Customer Tracking Pages

Recipients can now view proof of deliveries, including photos and the signature captured, directly on their tracking page, improving delivery confidence.
Availability: Included in all subscriptions.
Learn how to enable this here.
7. Hide Personal Recipient Information From Drivers Post-Delivery

Drivers can access key recipient details, like name and address, for navigation and communication purposes while the task is in progress. Once completed, the recipient's personally identifiable information can be hidden from the driver’s task history to improve customer privacy.
Availability: Included in all subscriptions. Contact Onfleet Support to enable this feature.
8. Collect Age Verification and Signature on Delivery

Onfleet now supports recipient age verification in the Driver App. When enabled, recipients must confirm they are 21+ before completing the signature step for a delivery. This added verification helps reduce your organization’s legal risk and supports safe, compliant deliveries across regulated industries.
Availability: Included in all subscriptions. Contact Onfleet Support to enable this feature.
9. More Flexible Delivery Options for Shopify Integrated Users

Gain greater control over your delivery operations with new configuration options in Shopify. You can now set order limits by location and time slot to prevent overbooking and define blackout dates to block off days when deliveries shouldn’t be scheduled.
Availability: Included in all subscriptions, for customers with an integrated Shopify account.
10. New Webhooks for Timely Customer Delivery Updates

Share Real-Time Route Updates
Six new Route Plan webhooks are now available for key activities, like route start and completion. These make it easy to send real-time SMS notifications with route tracking links, keeping recipients informed of their delivery progress hours in advance.
Availability: Included in all subscriptions, with Route Plans enabled and webhooks configured.
Proactive Alerts for Delayed Deliveries
A new Predictive ETA Delay webhook is also available, allowing you to trigger custom communications when a task is running behind schedule, reducing support inquiries.
Availability: Included in Scale and Enterprise subscriptions, with webhooks configured.
